This is your reminder that credit utilization has a HUGE impact on your score.

👉 Credit utilization = how much of your available credit you’re using

(Example: $5,000 limit, $2,500 balance = 50% utilization)

Even if you always pay your cards in full at the end of each month, letting a high balance report can temporarily tank your score.

The good news? It bounced right back 🙌

👉 Pro tip: Pay off large purchases before your statement closes to keep your utilization low

Yes, I book Basic fares. Yes, I know you “can’t modify them.” And yes… I also know not everyone is out here reading the fine print like it’s their full-time job 🙃

So here’s what I do:
– Track what I paid (literally just in my Notes app)
– Check prices every Tuesday when sales drop
– Search like I’m booking a new flight (NOT “modify flight”)
– If it’s cheaper → cancel, get points back, rebook

Same flight. Same seat. Less points.

Do with that what you will 👀

And if you hate Southwest… I love that for you 🫶

Before buying tickets, I always check the card-linked offers on our cards.

Right now I have this one on my Venture X:

Spend $650 at Undercover Tourist → earn 10,000 miles.

That’s $100 we can use to erase part of the purchase.

Here’s where this trick comes in clutch:

Tickets bought through Undercover Tourist code as travel, while purchases directly through Disney don’t — lame I know. I don’t make the rules.

These offers are targeted and change often, but when we’re planning a theme park trip it’s always one of the first things I check.

Sometimes the best discount is already sitting in your wallet. 🎟️
