It sounds crazy when I say it out loud but when it comes to earning points and miles and traveling the world for nearly free, the sky is the limit with this little hobby.

In those years we’ve traveled to Hawaii (5 times), New York, London, Paris, Ireland, Costa Rica, Disneyland a few times, Northern California and Colorado more times that I can recall at the moment. Most times just for the cost of food, rental car fuel, souvenirs and sometimes a few other expenses here or there.

The key- strategy and responsible spending.

If you earned a big Southwest bonus last year and you’re just short of Companion Pass, the Southwest debit card might actually push you over the line—no credit check required.

Not for everyone.

Probably not forever.
�But for Companion Pass? 👀 YES PLEASE!!

If your credit is frozen (as it should be ‼️), remember to thaw it before hitting “apply” for that new card to increase the chances of getting auto approved. Take it from someone who has forgotten a time or two. 🫠

Pro tip: all three major credit bureaus let you schedule an automatic refreeze. Easy peasy. 🍋

 So here’s what I wish I knew sooner. It’s not about spending more—it’s about spending smarter. One good card, timing new cards around your spending routines, and understanding bonuses can completely change the way you travel.
